- Run a slim-a-thon in the workplace
- Mount a display either manned or unmanned in the staff restaurant
- Work with your IT department to produce a screen saver promoting Weight Wise @ Work incorporating consumer messages
- Produce a compliment slip promoting Weight Wise @ Work messages and ask the salary department to attach to all play-slips during June 2005
- Hold a waist/weigh in. People always love to know what they weight and how they figure waist wise
- Promote an increased range of food/snack/drink choices throughout the month?
- Work with local sports and leisure centres to promote cheaper access
- Develop local competitions working with local media all around the subject of Weight Wise @ Work with prizes e.g. family pass for the sports centre, a pedometer
- Spot check your office for the 'most improved' employee and present the healthy winner a prize – good photo opportunity for staff intranet or company newsletter
- Encourage good breakfast habits with a breakfast club
- Link in with all other activities during the month e.g. diabetes week, food safety week, British Heart week and Men Health week – all provide opportunity for partnership
- Run mini health MOTs - provide reasons for not having a spare tyre
- e-mail all staff with consumer messages throughout the month
- Hold a healthy picnic locally – maybe one you have to walk to
- Ask local workplaces to devise a healthy lunchtime recipe for long term use in canteens
- Compare different cultures snack choices within your community and where necessary offer healthy alternatives
