Controlling sodium intake is important but it's only one part of adopting a healthy lifestyle. Hypertension is also caused by other factors such as being overweight, being inactive, smoking or drinking too much alcohol.

The foodfitness programme promoted on this website provides consumers with practical advice on healthy eating and increased moderate physical activity. In 2003, foodfitness introduced the Join the Activaters education programme to UK Primary schools.
